Sagrada Familia Parish of the Diocese of Huacho, Peru: Beneficiary of the 19th Konecta Foundation Charity Paddle Tennis Tournament

The Sagrada Familia Parish of the Diocese of Huacho, in Peru, is the beneficiary of the 19th Charity Paddle Tournament organized by Konecta Foundation

The 19th edition of Konecta Foundation’s Charity Paddle Tennis Tournament, now a well-established event, has benefited over 4,500 people from vulnerable groups through 24 social organizations, with more than €408,000 donated, thanks to the participation of over 5,500 players and volunteers.

Organizations such as Fundación AON España, Konecta, Wisness, Eulen, Wair, Solensur, Alding System, Aire Limpio, and Cerosiete, among others, made this latest edition possible.

Madrid, June 24 – For the nineteenth consecutive year, Konecta Foundation held its Charity Paddle Tennis Tournament at the Ciudad de la Raqueta Club. Over its history, the project has supported more than 4,500 individuals from disadvantaged communities by donating over €408,000 to 24 social entities, supported by the involvement of 5,500+ players and volunteers.

The event, chaired by José María Pacheco, President of Konecta, was attended by more than 300 players and guests who return faithfully each year. The Fundación También, led by Teresa Silva—a national leader in adaptive sports—was also present. In recognition of her nearly 25 years of dedicated service, Graciela de la Morena, Director of the Konecta Foundation, presented an award to Fundación También.

Konecta Foundation has supported adaptive paddle tennis for over 16 years, promoting the Konecta Foundation–Fundación También National Wheelchair Paddle Open, which was international this year for the second time. The tournament also featured inclusive activities for children.

Numerous companies supported the initiative by sponsoring the event or donating prizes for the charity raffle, held during the awards cocktail. All funds raised will go to the “Sagrada Familia Parish of the Diocese of Huacho in Peru,” which runs holistic social development projects for the country’s most disadvantaged populations. This year’s donation will fund a rehabilitation project for low-income children with disabilities in Northern Lima, offering speech, physical, occupational, and psychological therapies to help them complete their treatment and improve their quality of life.

The awards and charity raffle were once again hosted—now for the seventh time—by communicator Michi Primo de Rivera, whose professionalism and humor made the event highly enjoyable. Beatriz Parias, a collaborator with the Sagrada Familia Parish, presented the beneficiary project and read an emotional letter of thanks from Father Juan Fernández-Salvador, founder of the initiative.
