Cátedra Autismo – University of Seville

Society changing research into the autism spectrum
In 2021, Konecta Foundation, Befesa, and the University of Seville launched the Cátedra Autismo, an academic chair focused on fostering access to higher education and employment for people on the autism spectrum.
Did you know?
Between 1% and 2% of the population are on the autism spectrum. Many face challenges with communication, social interaction, and adapting to new environments, factors that can hinder access to higher education and employment. But with the right support, people with autism can thrive in academic and professional settings.
The chair promotes:
- Interdisciplinary research and innovation (RDI) in autism
- Training and awareness courses for educators
- Programs to support student mentors and volunteer allies
- Initiatives for secondary school students to ease the transition to university
TalentUS is the flagshiprogram of the chair, designed to help autistic students succeed
academically and transition to the workforce.
