Madrid, September 29, 2026. Sport once again became a tool for solidarity last Friday in Madrid. Club Ciudad de la Raqueta hosted the 21st edition of the Konecta Foundation Charity Padel Tournament, bringing together employees, partner companies, players and volunteers with the aim of creating a positive impact on society through sport.
With more than 20 years of history, the tournament has benefited more than 5,500 people, raised over €447,000 in donations for different social projects and collaborated with 26 social organisations. Since its creation, the initiative has also mobilised nearly 5,850 players and volunteers, making it one of the foundation’s flagship initiatives.
An edition focused on the fight against ALS
The funds raised through the 21st edition of the Konecta Foundation Charity Padel Tournament will be donated to Fundación Luzón to support its research project, “Creation of an updated national registry of people living with ALS”. The initiative aims to advance knowledge of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and contribute to improving care and quality of life for people living with the disease and their families.
Through this collaboration, Konecta Foundation joins Fundación Luzón in its efforts to promote research, generate knowledge and raise awareness of a disease that continues to require resources and solutions to improve the lives of those affected by it.
Inclusive sport takes centre stage
Once again, the tournament featured the participation of Fundación También, a leading organisation in the field of adaptive sport, which introduced attendees to different inclusive sporting activities, including wheelchair padel.
These activities helped raise awareness of the experiences of people with and without disabilities and highlighted the role of sport as a driver of inclusion and social cohesion. In this way, the event continues the support provided by Konecta Foundation to projects aimed at facilitating access to sport for people with disabilities.
More than two decades of social commitment
The celebration of the 21st edition marks another milestone for an initiative that has maintained the same purpose since its beginnings: channelling collective solidarity through sport and turning it into support for different social causes.
The event was supported by Fundación AON España, WAIR, Santander, Fundación MAPFRE, Magnetrón, Jabra and El Corte Inglés, among other sponsors and partners. Several companies also contributed products and experiences for the traditional charity raffle, one of the most anticipated and engaging moments of the event. The awards ceremony and raffle were hosted by presenter Michi Primo de Rivera, who once again supported the initiative.
After 21 editions, the Konecta Foundation Charity Padel Tournament has established itself as one of the foundation’s flagship initiatives and as a meeting point capable of bringing together companies, organisations and citizens around a shared cause, demonstrating the potential of sport to generate social impact.
